Cydney is an illustrator and comic artist from Kansas City, Missouri. She received her MFA in Illustration and Visual Culture from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, and received her BFA in Illustration from the University of Central Missouri. Her work explores themes of growth, wonder, exploration in our world and imagined worlds, character development, and communication. This takes form in comics, illustration, printmaking, zines, sketchbooking and whatever new media she is interested in.

Some of her clients include XYZ Type Foundry, The Riverfront Times, Big Brothers Big Sisters KC, Kansas City Magazine, and BarkleyOKRP Advertising Agency. Her personal work usually makes its way to tabling events throughout the country such as Kansas City Zinecon, St. Louis Independent Comics Expo (SLICE), or the ICON Roadshow.

Cydney spends most of her time drawing alongside her graphic designer husband, their spotted pitbull, and their two cats in a small studio filled to the brim with screenprints, houseplants, and an ever-growing collection of graphic novels. When she is not drawing in her studio, Cydney works with young illustrators as an Assistant Professor of Illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute. In school and at comics or zine events, she loves how illustration and storytelling bring people together and build community.
